About Cooling Tunnels
Our industrial cooling tunnels can be designed for both relatively small low-heat products and for large high-heat products. They feature a unique design in combination with engineered rapid cooling control that gives optimum results, in an environmentally sound way. Cooling capabilities range from 30,000 Btu/hr to 500,000 Btu/hr depending on the cooling tunnel design features.
Russells’ cooling tunnels ensure controlled temperature reduction in continuous process systems. They are similar to air convection ovens, but have no heating capability. Cooling tunnels use blowers to force mechanically cooled air (to -20 F) into the tunnel while drawing heated air from the parts out the opposite end. Passing cold air over the parts results in significantly faster cooling times and more even cooling capability. Continuous cooling tunnels are engineered for applications that require reductions in manufacturing times and increase line speed.
